Charlotte County Dock and Lift Installer
Boat Lifts, Floating Docks, and Kayak Docks for Charlotte County Waterfront Homes
MacDuff Marine installs Wave Armor floating docks, QABL aluminum boat lifts, and Wave Armor single and double kayak docks across Charlotte County, including Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Englewood, Rotonda, South Gulf Cove, and the Burnt Store corridor.
Charlotte County is built around boat access. Punta Gorda Isles, Burnt Store Isles, Port Charlotte canal homes, South Gulf Cove, Rotonda, Lemon Bay, and the Peace River corridor all put docks and lifts to work every day. The water changes from canal to harbor to river, and the product choice needs to match that.
MacDuff Marine has expanded service coverage into Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda from our Cape Coral and North Fort Myers home market. We have served Florida waterfront customers for more than 15 years, and we are Florida's exclusive dealer for QABL aluminum boat lifts.

The Marine Products We Install in Charlotte County
Charlotte County waterfront work is not one layout copied across every address. Punta Gorda Isles, Port Charlotte, Burnt Store, South Gulf Cove, Rotonda, Englewood, and the Peace River corridor all have different water movement, dock conditions, boat sizes, and permitting issues.

Wave Armor Floating Docks
Charlotte County canal communities were built around boat ownership. Punta Gorda Isles, Burnt Store Isles, Port Charlotte, South Gulf Cove, and Rotonda all have older fixed-dock installs that have taken years of sun, salt, tide, wake, and storm exposure.
Wave Armor's rotomolded polyethylene modular system replaces the constant cycle of sealing, staining, board replacement, and piling repairs with a floating dock that rides with the water level. The modules connect with stainless hardware, so the layout can be expanded later with swim platforms, PWC ports, boat ports, or added dock sections without tearing out the original install.

QABL Aluminum Boat Lifts
Charlotte Harbor water is a tough mix for lift equipment. Saltwater combines with tannin and sediment from the Peace and Myakka Rivers, and steel-frame lifts do not age well in that environment.
Every QABL lift we sell is built with marine-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, stainless hardware, sealed AO Smith motors, and zero-maintenance bearings. We size lifts for runabouts, bay boats, center consoles, deck boats, personal watercraft, and larger boats running from Burnt Store, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, and Englewood toward Boca Grande Pass.
Every QABL boat lift we install carries a 15-year warranty.

Wave Armor Single and Double Kayak Docks
Charlotte Harbor, Lemon Bay, the Peace River, and the canals around Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte are strong paddling water. Kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards need a stable launch point, not a slippery seawall edge or a fixed dock that sits too high when the water drops.
Wave Armor single and double kayak docks attach to a Wave Armor floating dock system and give one or two craft a dedicated launch, recovery, and storage point. The dock floats with the water level, which makes it easier to use through normal seasonal and tide changes.

Why Charlotte County Calls MacDuff
A Dock and Lift Installer Moving North From the Cape Coral Market
MacDuff Marine is not new to Southwest Florida dock and lift work. We have served Florida waterfront customers for more than 15 years, and our service expansion into Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda brings the same product line, warranty terms, and install standards north from our Cape Coral and North Fort Myers base.
- Florida's exclusive dealer for QABL aluminum boat lifts.
- 15-year warranty on QABL boat lifts.
- 8-year warranty on Wave Armor products.
- Wave Armor floating dock systems, including single and double kayak docks.
- No subcontracted install crews for core installation work.
- We beat any written competitor estimate by $150 on the same scope of work.
- North Fort Myers shop for accessories, parts, and product questions.
No dock should be sold as hurricane-proof. What matters is how the system handles water movement. Wave Armor works well in Charlotte County because the dock floats with changing water level instead of trying to hold one fixed elevation through tide, rainfall, and surge.
Waterways We Service
Charlotte County Waterways Need Different Dock and Lift Setups
A dock in Punta Gorda Isles does not have the same job as a dock on Lemon Bay or a riverfront property along the Peace River. We look at canal width, water depth, boat size, exposure, access, seawall condition, existing pilings, and permitting before recommending a layout.
Punta Gorda and Punta Gorda Isles
Punta Gorda Isles is a deepwater canal community with direct access to Charlotte Harbor. Many homes already have private docks and lifts built for offshore-capable boats, but a lot of older waterfronts are ready for aluminum lift upgrades, floating dock additions, PWC ports, or kayak dock access.
We install in PGI, Burnt Store Isles, and nearby Punta Gorda waterfront neighborhoods. Product choice depends on the boat, the canal, the existing dock, and the approval path for the property.
Port Charlotte Canal Homes
Port Charlotte has mixed canal conditions, including older dredged canals, residential seawalls, and water access that can vary from street to street. Some homes need a straightforward floating dock or PWC port. Others need a lift sized around a center console, deck boat, or bay boat.
The Manchester Waterway, Spring Lake area, and nearby canal neighborhoods each need to be reviewed on the property, not guessed from a map.
Burnt Store Corridor
The Burnt Store corridor has a high concentration of waterfront homes, private slips, and larger boats. Many customers in this corridor care about lift capacity, clean dock layout, and reliable daily access to Charlotte Harbor.
Marina slip work inside the Burnt Store Marina facility can require marina approval. Private waterfront homes in the surrounding Burnt Store community are handled differently, and we help confirm the correct path before quoting.
Englewood and Lemon Bay
Englewood and Lemon Bay properties are more open-water than many interior canal homes. That changes the way a dock and lift need to be sized. Wind, wake, open exposure, boat draft, and approach angle all matter.
For these properties, we usually look closely at lift capacity, dock freeboard, shoreline conditions, and whether the design will need a more detailed environmental or local review.
Rotonda and South Gulf Cove
South Gulf Cove and Rotonda are canal communities where access, layout, and daily usability matter. Many homes are a good fit for Wave Armor floating docks, PWC ports, kayak docks, or aluminum lift upgrades.
The goal is not to overbuild the waterfront. The goal is to make the water easier to use while keeping the equipment matched to Charlotte County conditions.
Peace River Corridor
The Peace River moves from freshwater to brackish water as it approaches Charlotte Harbor. Tannin staining is heavier here than on many canal systems, and seasonal water changes need to be considered before choosing a dock type.
Wave Armor polyethylene is a strong fit in tannin-heavy water because it avoids the staining, rot, and maintenance cycle that comes with older wood dock systems.
Permitting Notes
Charlotte County Dock Permitting Depends on the Waterbody
Permitting is site-specific. The address, waterbody, dock size, existing shoreline, manatee considerations, navigation, and whether the work sits in an artificially created canal can all change the approval path.
A common path for smaller single-family residential docks in artificially created waterways is the Florida dock exemption under Florida Statute 403.813. That statute includes private docks of 1,000 square feet or less in artificially created waterways when the work does not violate water quality standards, impede navigation, or affect flood control.
Charlotte Harbor proper, Lemon Bay, the Peace River below the Highway 41 bridge, and other environmentally sensitive areas can require more review. In Outstanding Florida Waters, the over-water surface area threshold can drop to 500 square feet, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers review may also apply.
Charlotte County Community Development handles local building permits separately from state and federal review. The cleanest way to avoid surprises is to review the property before quoting the final scope.
Already Have a Written Estimate?
Send It Over. We Will Beat It by $150.
Bring us a written estimate from a licensed Charlotte County dock or lift company on the same scope of work, and MacDuff Marine will beat it by $150.
The scope has to match. Same product category, same install scope, same equipment grade, and the same permitting assumptions. We do not compare a full aluminum lift and Wave Armor layout against a stripped-down quote that leaves pieces out.

Look Through Dock, Lift, PWC Port, and Kayak Dock Layouts
Before you request an estimate, look through the gallery. It helps to see how different dock, lift, PWC port, boat port, and kayak dock layouts work on real waterfront properties.
For Charlotte County customers, the most useful comparisons are canal homes, seawall installs, floating dock additions, aluminum lift upgrades, and PWC or kayak access built into the main dock layout.

Charlotte County FAQ
Common Questions About Charlotte County Boat Lifts and Floating Docks
Did MacDuff Marine just start serving Charlotte County?
MacDuff Marine has served Florida waterfront customers for more than 15 years. Our service expansion into Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda is a recent addition to bring the same dock and lift work, the same crews, and the same warranty terms north into Charlotte County.
How do Wave Armor docks handle storm surge?
No dock should be sold as hurricane-proof. Wave Armor's modular polyethylene system is designed to float with changing water levels instead of holding one fixed elevation like a dock built on pilings.
That difference matters during normal tide movement, heavy rainfall, and storm surge. Storm prep still matters. Loose accessories should be removed or secured, the system should be tied off correctly, and the dock should be allowed to move with the water.
Can you install at Burnt Store Marina or are slips dealer-restricted?
We work with the broader Burnt Store community regularly. Marina slip modifications inside the Burnt Store Marina facility itself may require approval from the marina operator.
Private waterfront homes in the surrounding Burnt Store community are handled differently. We will help you confirm which jurisdiction and approval path applies before quoting.
Will MacDuff handle the FL DEP exemption paperwork?
For projects that qualify for self-certified exemption, we walk you through the filing and provide the dimensional and product documentation needed for the project. The homeowner remains the certifying party because the FL DEP self-certification process is structured that way.
For projects requiring full DEP or USACE review, we help coordinate the next steps and keep you informed as the scope is reviewed.
What areas of Charlotte County do you service?
We service Punta Gorda, Punta Gorda Isles, Port Charlotte, Englewood, Rotonda, South Gulf Cove, Burnt Store, and the surrounding Charlotte County waterfront communities.
Do you install kayak docks, or only boat lifts?
We install Wave Armor single and double kayak docks, kayak assist setups, floating dock systems, PWC ports, boat ports, and QABL aluminum boat lifts.
Kayak docks are a strong fit for Charlotte Harbor, Lemon Bay, the Peace River, and canal properties where paddling is part of regular water use.
